Culture and Development……

Welcome to a new series of discussion that seek to increase our knowledge in the field of social development through local cultural practices and implementation of public policies. However, my main question is, how is the incorporation of local cultural process in to public action could help ensure more effective and efficient outcomes regarding Socio-Economic Development?

To a large extent I agree that, the incorporation of local cultural processes in to public action could help to ensure effective and efficient outcomes of social development policies. Therefore, my discussion in this series will be based on five premises as follows;

First, I will draw a background in to theories of social sciences to paint a picture that shows a great degree of relations between local cultural processes and public actions.

Second, I will discuss the means (how things are done) by uniting the two, local cultural processes and public actions could provide mechanism that has effects and capable of producing ends (desired results or achievements), specifically on development policies at local level, whereas family units, homesteads, villages, wards, and districts are the targets for the impact of social development initiatives.

Third, I will examine the extent of local cultural processes at the community level, which has managed to form a large corporation and influence the public actions to positive social change.

Fourth, by using cases I will try to quantify the proportions of local cultural processes that have managed to have positive achievement as result of begin in incorporated in to public actions.

Finally, I will therefore indicate conditions that can be used in the incorporation of local cultural processes in to public action and ensure desirable outcomes.

Therefore, join me on this series of discussion on how the Local Development Experts together with Development Partners could help implement public policy geared to facilitate community development in the East and Southern Africa Region.
